#117 Moving On

December 8, 2011

There come those times in every EAW’s life where the EAW realizes he or she has given all there is to give. Maybe the grant is over and there’s no chance for a life-saving cost extension. Maybe she or he has facipulated all that she or he can. Maybe the winds of global nomadic change are blowin’ through this land. But whatever the case, sometimes it’s just time for moving on.

The smart EAW knows that all good things come to an end… And it’s better to burn out than to fade away.

And so it is with Stuff Expat Aid Workers Like.

On this, our 1 year anniversary, we’ve decided to begin winding down SEAWL.

We will continue with guest posts until the queue runs out (there are still some great ones in there!) and we’ll still post ManuCartoons periodically. We’ll keep our Twitter and Facebook accounts open and Shotgun’s blog is still active, but the two of us will no longer be writing here.

It’s been fun and it’s been real. We’ve enjoyed the hell out of it – seriously – and we hope you have too. Watch for us in other spaces very soon!

Thanks for making it a great year.

J. & SgS

Oh c’mon! You’re just gonna leave us stranded in the field like this? That makes me sad. =(

Thanks for making me feel less insane and more self-conscience!
Please don’t delete the blog all together, so I can revisit for nostalgia’s sake.
    Take good care.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the first blog I have ever liked enough to sign on to. It always makes me laugh out loud and as an EAW think it it fits the bill perfectly.

Well thank you for the entertainment!

You’ve made this legendary, guys [or girls – I’d like to think]. Well done!
    Many thanks indeed!

That’s too bad. As a reformed EAW myself who has moved on to other addictions, I really enjoyed the articles–I saw a lot of myself in there. You made me laugh at the self-righteousness of so many EAW’s around the world. Maraming salamat po! (Note the gratuitous use of my acquired language to impress y’all!)

I’m glad. This has been fun and painfully on point for us EAWs. Perhaps eye-opening for non-EAWs, too. But there’s only so far one can (or should!) go with it.
