"Publicizing this wicked satire as Best of 2011 is @cblatts ' fault bit.ly/tuLmaY" Bill Easterly, Economist, Grumpy Aid Critic and Author of White Man's Burden.
"The Stuff Expat Aid Workers Like blog is like having a beer with a jaundiced aid worker after a crap day. It’s all cynicism and self-loathing (and some ferocious cartoons), with the commitment (one hopes) taken for granted...." Duncan Green, Oxfam UK, From Poverty to Power Blog
"I'm a local, and I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH for your blog. Often when working with expats I get a sense of humour failure. Why do they talk about the toilet so much (especially because Cape Town isn't exactly the bush - you can eat quite safely) and wear such a strange combination of local clothes? Why do they ignore advice about safety? Why do they lecture me on the history of my own country? And then I read your blog. And it's all so true!" H

the comics are horrible – apart from the awful style the message is not even smart or witty. please do post less of these.
Thanks! How so kind of you. Now that i feel like a rejected loser, may i be featured on your positive-minded blog about rejections and failures?
I disagree– I don’t think the comics are horrible at all. In fact, my first thought upon seeing the DSK image was “wow, that’s quite good”. Manu, ignore the haters!
I like them too! I think they’re particularly good when attached to an article post.
Soo true. Asked my French colleague about the DSK saga and he said the same exact thing. Zis is a big conspirasseeeeey (conspiracy in Frenglish) no?
Love your comics. Please keep posting. M
I think they’re cool too and often make me laugh or at least smile. Keep calm and carry on
I like the comics!!! And DSK is innocent btw. This country is overrun with crazy people who think a judicial process should lead to conviction whenever the media work themselves into a frenzy.
I though that was funny and i am french!
